As I have said many time before, Lil Angel prefers Paneer Parotta and the Cheese Stuffed Chapathi. While the the Paneer parotta and Chilli parotta seduces an adults tastebuds, the cheese stuffed Chapthi is rather bland. But I dare not say this in front of her as that is her favorite No.1 as she calls it.
Recently,I saw Chef Sanjeev Kapoor prepare this Spicy Cheese Chapathi that I am posting today. His show Khana Khazana is on Zee Salaam channel, aired between 1.30 - 2.00 pm Indian time. I watch his shows regularly and this recipe sounded spicy enough to tempt the adults at home.
So while Lil Angel had her version of Cheese Stuffed Chapathi, we had this one...
The aroma that fills the kitchen and the whole house is so delicious! I am sure everyone will love this simple yet tasty Chapthi...
I used:
Source - Chef Sanjeev Kapoor's Khana Khazana Show
Whole Wheat flour - 2 cups
Salt to taste
For the filling.....
Adjust the quantity of each ingredient in the filling to suit your taste....
Take the wheat flour and salt in a bowl and add water little by little and knead to a smooth, elastic dough. Let is rest for 10-15 minutes. If you are in a hurry, start making the roti straight away....
Pinch a golf ball sized dough and roll it out.
Place a portion of the filling
Bring the edges together and flatten it a bit and roll out into chapathi..
Cook on both sides till brown spots appear...Drizzle a little oil around the edges if needed..
Serve with a side dish of your choice....
Note:
- Instead of ginger pieces, ginger paste can be added
- Also chili powder can be used instead of green chilies.
- Even a simple side of plain yogurt is enough for this paratha.
This post is for the Cookbook Challenge of the month....
Bon Appetit...
