Whole Wheat Sesame Crackers | Guilt Free Snack

I am back today with a healthy and addictive snack .This was the second dish that I baked for the marathon.While I had hundreds of baked recipes bookmarked, I wanted to make this one as soon as I saw it on Vaishali's blog. I made it the same day she posted it on her blog. It was late in the evening, almost time to prepare dinner, but instead I baked this one.The kids loved it so much that as soon as one batch got cooled, it disappeared right from the cooling rack!!I had to hide the last two batches for the clicks.

This is my third bakes for Week 5,Day 3 in the Fire Up Your Oven month long baking marathon...

Adapted from Ribbon's to Pasta's

Whole wheat flour- 1 1/2 cups
Oil-1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Red chili powder- 1 teaspoon
Sesame seeds[black and white]- 1/4 cup
Water as needed

In a bowl, take wheat flout, salt, red chili powder and add oil.

Mix well and add the sesame seeds.Add water little by little and knead to a smooth and elastic dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile pre heat the oven to 180 degree C.

After the resting time, roll out a small portion of the dough into a thin circle[not too thin].If the dough is rolled out too thick,it will not be crisp after baking.Keep the remaining portion of dough covered so  that it does not dry out.

Using a sharp knife, cut squares and transfer the squares onto a greased baking tray.Bake for 8-10 minutes in a pre heated oven @ 180 degree C. The oven timing will vary depending on how thin / thick you roll out the dough and also the size of the squares.Remove from oven once they turn brown.They will be a little soft as soon as they  are out of the oven but will crispen after a while, else bake for anther minute or too.

Enjoy the crispy tea time snack.Store leftovers [if any] in an air tight container after it cools down completely.
