Talk about Roti / Chapathi and Lil Dude's face will light up immediately! Such is his love for flat breads! He will happily have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and even in between. I sometimes wonder where he caught this 'Roti bug'!!
So when I saw the theme - Break basket in the Blogging marathon announcement,I was sure this would be a theme that I would enjoy making and one that Lil Dude would love. In this theme we got to make a mixed-in / stuffed / deep fried flat bread. This mixed-in Roti is for Blogging Marathon #49, Week 2,Day 1.
I used:
Whole wheat flour- 2 cups
Quick cooking oats-1 cup
Finely chopped spring onion greens - 1/2 cup
Kalonji-1 teaspoon
Oil 1 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Take all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix well and add water little by little and knead to a smooth dough. Pinch out a golf ball sized piece of dough and roll out into a roti. Cook on a heated griddle till both sides have brown spots. Remove from griddle and serve...
I served this with Tofu - Baby corn masala gravy...
Bon Appetit...
