Almost all of us are on the lookout for non fried snacks. I was happy to try out one such snack for Taste and Create. This month I was paired with Kat who blogs @ Study food. It is a blog about food for students created by a student!
This is the second time I am paired with her. The previous time I prepared this Oven fries. Like the previous time,I munched on these reading the book I received for review - Once upon the tracks of Mumbai. The story is very different and interesting - about an autistic person actually.I will be posting the review shortly.
Coming to today's recipe, this is what I used...
Source - Study Food
Black chickpea / Kaala channa-1/2 cup
Garam masala- 1/2 teaspoon
Chili powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Oil- 1 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
- Pressure cook the chickpea till soft and drain the excess water. Spread on a kitchen towel until there is no moisture. It is absolutely necessary that there is no trace of water else the roasting time will be longer.
- Mix the spices in the oil and pour over the chickpeas.Mix well.
- Spread it out on a baking try lines with a foil and bake in a preheated oven @ 180 Degree C for 25 minutes[The baking time may vary].Stir once every 10 minutes.Check to see if it is crunchy , else bake for some more time.
Enjoy the guilt free snack!!!!!
Each month,it is fun creating dishes for Taste and Create
