Hua Juan - Chinese Steamed Scallion Buns

After a really long time, I am writing about a Chinese dish that I used to enjoy.Hua Juan literally means 'twisted flower'.[In Mandarin,Hua means Flower and Juan is twist].These are steamed scallion buns in the shape of a flower.

It is made with flour and yeast and of course scallion and are steamed. They have a lovely ' scallion' taste that is something to die for...

I have never attempted to make these at home though the recipe is very simple.I used to get them @ 1 RMB for a pair and that's more than enough for me.My folks don't fancy these buns so I never attempt to make them as I am sure I would end up with a lot more than I can store and eat :)

But if you want to try them out, here are some recipes that I found...
