You need:
Ridgegourd peel - 1/2 cup[chopped]
Coconut-2 tablespoons,grated
Urad dhal-2 teaspoons
Gram dhal-2 teaspoons
Tamarind- a small bit
Salt to taste
Seasoning:
Mustard-1/2 teaspoon
Jeera-1/2 teaspoon
Urad dhal - 1/2 teaspoon
Red chillies -2
Oil- 3 teaspoon
- Heat oil in a pan and put in the peels and saute till the raw smell goed off.It will wilt but don't worry.
- Remove from heat and keep aside.
- In the same pan heat a little oil and put in urad ,gram dhal,red chillies and roast till they turn golden brown.Remove from fire and cool.
- Grind the peel,dhals,chillies,tamarind,coconut and salt to a smooth paste adding water little by little.Remove and it into a serving bowl.
- Heat oil and put in the seasonings.
- When they crackle and the dhal turns brown pour over the chutney.
- Mix well and serve as an accompaniment with any tiffin of your choice.
I had prepared this and served it with Iddli and my dad really could'nt find what it was made of!!

We used to prepare the same as u do..love them with hot steaming idlies..awesome..
we too make this chutney..looks good!..and don't worry your vada are very cute too...am sure you will get it perfect no time..
